PRIVACY POLICY

We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and understand which pages are read. It records the page you viewed, the site or search that sent you, an approximate location derived from your IP address, and basic device and browser details. Google truncates the IP address and we do not receive it.

We use this only to decide what to write and what to build. We do not sell it, share it for advertising, or try to identify you from it. Google processes it as our data processor; see Google's privacy policy and Google's data processing terms.

Google Analytics sets cookies on your device to tell one visit from another. They hold a random identifier, not your name or address.

If you are in the EU, EEA, or UK, the site asks before setting them and does nothing until you answer. Anywhere else, you can decline from the same banner, refuse cookies in your browser, or install Google's opt-out add-on. Declining costs you no part of the site.

The site has no accounts, no sign-in, no comment forms, and no newsletter. It never asks for your name, address, phone number, or payment details, because it has nothing to charge you for. We run no advertising and no third-party trackers beyond the analytics described above.

The site is static pages served by GitHub Pages. GitHub keeps standard web-server access logs for security and operations under its own terms; see GitHub's privacy statement. Pages load typefaces from Google Fonts, which reveals your IP address to Google in the ordinary course of fetching a file.

Analytics records expire after 14 months, the shortest retention Google Analytics 4 offers. Reports built from them are aggregate counts and identify nobody.

Every river.io app carries its own privacy policy, linked from that app's page and from its store listing. Most of them collect nothing whatsoever: no analytics, no accounts, no network calls. Read the app's own policy for the app; this page does not speak for it.

Under the GDPR, the CCPA, and equivalents you may ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to our processing. Site analytics is the only category we hold, and it is not tied to your identity, so in practice the fastest remedy is to decline the cookie or use the opt-out add-on above. Write to privacy@river.io and we will answer within 30 days.

We do not sell personal information and never have.

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
