The Plate Yards do one thing at planetary scale: they turn unsorted tin ore into food contact rated coil, the material every tin on every shelf in the network is made from. The mill runs a shorter, hotter process than the Drift's and the metallurgists on both stations maintain a rivalry conducted entirely through purity certificates.

Ganymede plate ships mostly inward to Cannery Row, which makes the Yards to Row lane one of the steadiest paychecks on the board. It is not glamorous freight. It is the freight that makes all the glamorous freight possible, and the Yards' dock crew will tell you so, unprompted, at length.

The station's other export is certainty. A coil stamped GPY has never once failed food contact audit, a record maintained since opening and displayed on a counter above the mill floor that the crew resets to zero as a joke precisely never.
